We know how life can throw things at us unexpectedly, it can sometimes be difficult to stay calm when under a lot of life’s pressures. No matter whether its work, school, family, money, university. We can all admit we let them get on top of us sometimes. There are many things we can do throughout the day that will help take the edge off. It is important for your mental health to keep mindful and release any stress you may be feeling. Built up stress can lead to more complications then needed.
Surround yourself with positive people
Unfortunately, some people do not have a positive outlook on life. Do not let other people’s stresses become yours too. It is important to stay focused on yourself and only surround yourself with people who are doing the same. Understandably you can keep away from everyone with bad vibes, but you can do your best to remember their stresses are not your own. Having positive people and vibes around you will automatically help you to destress after a long day.
Practice gratitude
Being grateful for what you have will make you realise that you should not be as stressed as you are. Sometimes looking at the bigger picture and looking at everything you should be grateful for will help. Thinking about what actually matters can banish those little stresses because most the time they do not matter.
Meditation
Taking some time out of your day to mediate will eliminate those stresses. Use this time to really clear your mind. Meditating is not easy, it does take some practice. To start you should do it for around 5 mins or for as long as you can. After you are able to do 5 minuets move on and increase the amount of time. Meditating for 15 minutes a day can be especially useful for your mind.
Go for a walk
Walking is a very underestimated way of destressing. Going for a walk with nature will really give you the time to collect your thoughts and help you stay connected with your feelings. Sometimes all people need is time to think and sort out their emotions and thoughts.
Plenty of sleep
Sleep is crucial for stress. Being stressed on 4 hours sleep is so much worse than doing stressed on a good amount of sleep. Being well rested will help you in many other aspects of life and may even eliminate some of the stress before it even happens.
Take a deep breath
Having a stressful day can be sorted by taking a deep breath. Now this is more than you think, taking a deep breath can just mean taking a few minutes out of your day to breath, think and calm down. Stress gets worse when there is lots going on.
Stress is something we all go through, so if you are feeling stressed you are not alone. It takes sometime to think about how to deal with it but hopefully these tips help.
