How our mindset has an impact on our lives.

How to Change Your Mindset

Dr Dispenza explains to us how some simple steps can help you take better control of your future.

He has pointed out 5 main changes, to discuss, that can help towards changing your mentality and ensuring better mental health.

Dr Joe Dispenza calls this process as retraining your brain.

1) Time out – disconnect from the world

Always remember to take a break. Give yourself the room to breathe.

Remove your mobile phones, computers, and laptops out of your line of sight. Power down your TV.

Take a break – sit down and allow your muscles to unwind.

Close your eyes, let all the noise drown out around you.

Allow yourself a respite, even just for a few minutes.

2) Breathe – Focus on The Present You

Focus on your present.

Your attention needs to be brought to the present time and your present self.

This means, you should not let your mind wander too much, either to the future you envision, or the past where your regrets lay.

Of course, this is a normal occurrence.

However, you need to figure out that your present is more important, and that it will lead you to an abundant future, only if you focus on what needs to be done to achieve it.

By focusing on your present, it enables you to put more effort on the now. You have more energy, more time to think, and so you are more creative.

Investing in your current life, means understanding that your current affects your future.

3) You are Your Future, Not Your Past

Do not let your past influence your future negatively.

Your past is only a part of you, it does not completely define you. You are what you work towards, not what has already passed.

Ask yourself:

Give yourself the time to think, before you answer.

It gives you the time to muse, what do you actually want to achieve?

Your brain begins to work and contemplate these questions. You might not notice, but at this moment, your mindset starts to change.

By thinking of the options and paths you can take to achieve your future, you are sending messages to your brain.

Like a puzzle, you are comparing each option, each twist, each notion, and each combination – trying to figure out which actions result in the best outcome.

This is the first step you are taking towards changing your mindset.

Deciding what you need to do and what you do not need to do, to accomplish your end goal.

Begin your day on a positive note

Deciding on the emotions you want, to create that future you envision, is just as important.

Make your body understand the emotions you want to carry to that future. How do you wish to feel in the future?

Feeling excited thinking of the future ahead, or determined to get to that future, are emotions that fuel you to work towards that aspiration. This will let your body experience the emotions and energy driving you forward.

Start your day on these positive emotions. Your body is energised by the positive emotions you feed them.

4) Mentally prepare yourself for your future

This means, to have a mental run through of who you will become.

Various questions that you should ask yourself include:

Constantly have these questions on mind, and review what you have to do.

5) Decide What Ideology You Will Embrace in the Future

Your ideology refers to your ideas and beliefs; what you feel is important to you.

Dr Joe Dispenza wants you to contemplate whether your past can assist you in your future, or will it cause obstructions and hold you back.

What do you feel will help you succeed? What thoughts will help you succeed in life?

Dr Dispenza tries to convey that your thoughts influence your mindset, so you need to choose what thoughts and emotions you can keep and what thoughts are unhealthy, if you wish to pursue success.

The past can help you achieve success, in some instances, but only when you can improve yourself from it.

If something from your past makes you think negatively without reason, then this thought, or mindset, is something that you should not bring with you to the future. It can be quite detrimental.

Thoughts and actions not to bring with you:

Your behaviour, attitude and actions have an immense influence on how you react to different situations, both consciously and subconsciously.

To change your mindset, it is essential to first identify these negative thoughts and actions and understand why it is important to change it.

Dr J. Dispenza asserts that emotions also need to be categorised, into ones to cherish and ones to let go of, to strengthen future prospects.

Some emotions to cherish can be:

Some emotions to control:

If you take note of these points, and be conscious of them on a constant basis, it will condition your mind and may help you face a future with a more positive outlook.
